4. A car is moving with speed of 20 m/s. After applying the brakes, if the maximum

deceleration produced is 10m/s2,then find the distance covered by the car before coming to rest. ​

Explanation:

initial velocity (u) = 20 m/s

final velocity (v) = 0 m/s ( finally the car comes to rest )

Acceleration = -10 m/s ² ( retardation)

2as = v² - u²

2 × ( - 10 m/s²) ×s = (0m/s)² - ( 20 m/s ) ²

-20 s = - 400

s = - 400/ -20

s = 20 m
