Answer:

  • The number be 60.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • A number is greater than 45.
  • That number is smaller than 75.

To Find:

  • The number.

Now, according to question,

Let the number be 'x', and that number is y greater than 45,

⇒ 45 + y = x  ........(1)

And same number y smaller than 75,

⇒ 75 - y = x    .........(2)

Now, from equation (1) & (2), we get

⇒ 45 + y = 75 - y

⇒ 2y = 75 - 45

⇒ 2y = 30

⇒ y = 15

Hence, Number be,

⇒ x = 45 + y = 45 + 15 = 60

⇒ x = 75 - y = 75 - 15 = 60.

Hence, the number be 60.

Let the required number be X.

This is as much greater than 45 as it is less than 75.

=> x  - 45 = 75 - x

=>2x = 120

=>x = 60
