4. A patient in a hospital is given soup daily in a cylindrical bowl of diameter 7 cm. If the bowl
is filled with soup to a height of 4 cm, then how many litres of soup the hospital manage-
ment has to prepare daily to serve 100 patients​

Height , h = 4 cm

Quantity of soup in 1 bowl = Volume of one cylindrical bowl

= πr²h

= 22 / 7 × [7 / 2] ² × 4

= 154 cm³

Quantity of soup prepared in 100 bowls = 100 × 154

= 15400 cm³

= 15.4 litres [ 1 cm³ = 0.001 litres]
