Given :

  • Length of rectangular pool = 42 m
  • Breadth of rectangular pool = 32 m
  • Width of path around it = 4 m

To find :

  • The cost of constructing the path at 200 per m ².

Solution :

First finding the Area of the rectangular pool :

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

⟼ Area (rectangle) = 42 × 32

⟼ Area (rectangle) = 1344 m²

Now, finding the area of rectangle with path :

• Length of rectangle including path

= (42 + 4 + 4)m

= ( 46 + 4) m

= 50 m

• Breadth of rectangle including path

= (32 + 4 + 4) m

= (36 + 4) m

= 40 m

Area of rectangle including path

= 50 × 40 = 2000m²

Thus,

Area of path = Area of rectangle including path - Area of rectangle

↛ Area of path = 2000 - 1344

↛ Area of path = 656 m²

Now,

Cost of Constructing path at per m = 200

Cost of constructing path at 656

= (656 × 200)

= 131,200
