Given:

We are given that square of hypotenuse is 50 m.

Solution:

An isosceles triangle contains two sides of equal lengths.

According to Pythagoras theorem, in a right angled triangle:

(Hypotenuse)2 = (base)2 + (height)2

Given that, (Hypotenuse)2=50m

Let base = height = xm

According to Pythagoras theorem,

x ^{2} + {x}^{2} = 50 \\ {2x}^{2} = 50 \\ {x}^{2} = 25 \\ x = 5

Result: Length of base and height of the triangle is 5 m.
