Given the price is raised by 25%.

Let the original price be x.

Let the actual weight that can be bought with 240 be w.

Then w*x=240. —eq1

Then current price is 5x/4.

He bought 3/2kg less than actual weight that can be obtained with 240.

so (w-(3/2))*(5x/4)=240.

=>(w-(3/2))*(5x)=960.

=>(w-(3/2))*x=192.

=>w*x-3x/2=192.

=>240–3x/2=192. (eq1)

=>3x/2=240–192=48.

=>x=16*2.

=>x=32.

Thus the original price is 32 pet kg.
