4. A school ground is in the shape of a circle with
radius 103 m. Four tracks each of 3 m wide has to be
constructed inside the ground for the purpose of
track events. Find the cost of constructing the track
at the rate of 50 per sq.m.

the outer circle radius = 103 m
the inner circle radius = 103-3 = 100 m
The area of the track = π ( R2 - r2)
= 22/7( 103x103 - 100 x100)
= 22/7 ( 10609 - 10000)
= 22/7 ( 609 )
= 1914 m2
The cost of track =50x1914 = Rs. 95700

Answer:

The outer circle radius=103 m

The inner circle radius =103-3= 100 m

The area of the track=€ (R2-r2

=22/7 (103×103-100×100 )

=22/7 (10609 - 10000)

=22/7 (609)

=1914 m2

The cost of track=50×1914= Rs 95700
