4. A school has a total strength of 2,450 students and 980 of these are boys. Find the ratio of girls to boys. (the answer will be in ratio)

• Total strength of students = 2450
• No.of boys = 980
• No.of girls = Total strength - No.of boys
• No.of girls = 2450 - 980
• No.of girls = 1470

To find

• Ratio of girls to boys

Solution

• No.of girls : No.of boys = 1470 : 980
• 1470/980 = 147/98
• 21/14   (7 table)
• 3/2      
• 3 : 2

∴ The ratio of girls to boys is 3 : 2, that means for every 3 girls there are 2 boys.
