(2). Finding the area of the frame:

The area of the frame is,

= [Outer area of the table] - [Area of the square table]

= [9216 cm²] - [8100 cm²]

= 1116 cm²

Solution:

The side of the square table = 90 cm

∴ Area of the square table = side² = 90² = 8100 cm²

(1). Finding the outer area of the table:

The width of the frame around the square table = 3 cm

So,

The length of the outer side of the table = 90 + (2 × 3) = 90 + 6 = 96 cm
