Answer:

distance=14.142 km

displacement=0 m

Explanation:

use the formula s=2×22/7×r÷t

displacement is 0 because the athelete completes 1 round in 15 sec and 2.5 min=150 sec

so he would complete 10 rounds

AnswEr :

Given that an athlete completes one round of circular track in 15 s. Diameter of circular track is 450 m.

We have to find distance covered and displacement at the end of 2.5 minutes.

Here diameter of track = 450 m

→ Radius of track = 450/2

Radius of track = 225 m

Now total time :

→ Total time = 2.5 minutes.

→ Total time = (2.5 × 60) s

Total time = 150 s

Now finding number of rounds :

→ Number of rounds = 150/15

Number of rounds = 10

So, as the number of rounds is an even number, so displacement = 0 [As the athlete comes back to its initial position ]

Displacement of athlete = 0 [Ans : 1]

Now total distance covered :

Distance in 1 round = Perimeter of track

Perimeter of square = 2πr

As it covers 10 rounds :

→ Total distance = 10 × 2πr

→ Total distance = 10 × 2 × (22/7) × 225

→ Total distance = 10 × 1414.29

Total distance = 14142.9 m

→ Total distance = 14142.9/1000 km

Total distance = 14.14 km

Total distance covered is 14142.9 m or 14.14 km. [Ans : 2]
