2x+8/x+8 = 22/13

Eight years hence,
(x+8) : (y+8) = 22 : 13 ......eq (2)
Substitute eq (1) in eq (2)

(2y + 8) / (y + 8) = 22/13
13(2y+8) = 22(y+8)
26y + 104 = 22 y + 176
4y = 72
y = 18
Therefore 'x'becomes 36 (since, x=2y)
