Answer:

1) Scalar product is commutative.

2) Scalar product of two mutually perpendicular vectors is zero.

3)Scalar product of two parallel

vectors is equal to the product of their magnitudes.

4) Self product of a vector is equal to square of its magnitude.

Characteristics of Scalar Product :

1. Scalar Product is commutative :

For example :

  \boxed{\vec{a} \: . \:  \vec{b} = \vec{b} \: . \:  \vec{a}}

2. Scalar product of parallel vectors equates to product of their respective magnitudes.

For example :

  \boxed{\vec{a} \parallel \vec{b}  \:  \:  \:  \: \: and  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \vec{a}. \vec{b} = a \times b}

3. Scalar Product of perpendicular vectors is zero.

  \boxed{\vec{a} \perp\vec{b}  \:  \:  \:  \: \: and  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \vec{a}. \vec{b} = 0}

4. Scalar Product of same vector is square of its magnitude.

  \boxed{  \vec{a}. \vec{a} =  {a}^{2} }
