The number of small cubes which are  one face coloured is​ 24 cubes.

Given:

4 cm sided cube is cut into smaller cubes of side 1 cm each. Before cutting it was painted on all its faces.

To find:

The number of small cubes which are one face coloured.

Solution:  

The total number of cubes cut = 64 cubes

The edges will have two sides coloured, hence 4 \times 4 = 16

Hence there will be 2 \times 2 cubes which are only one face colored, there are six faces, so  

6 \times 2\times 2 = 24 cubes
