Answer:

a. Acid + Base = neutralization reaction. The products of this reaction are a salt and water. ... For example, the reaction of hydrochloric acid, HCl, with sodium hydroxide, NaOH, solutions produces a solution of sodium chloride, NaCl, and some additional water molecules.

b. Acid + Metal hydrogen carbonate = Carbon dioxide.

Acids give carbon dioxide gas, respective salt and water when they react with metal hydrogen carbonate.

Acid + Metal hydrogen carbonate →Salt + Carbon dioxide +Water.

c. Base do not react with Metal carbonate.Carbonates do not react with bases because metal carbonates are itself bases. So base when added to base gives no reaction.

d. Acid + Metal= Salt + Hydrogen. When an acid reacts with metal, a salt and hydrogen are produced: acid + metal → salt + hydrogen An example: nitric acid + calcium → calcium nitrate + hydrogen The salt that is produced depends upon which acid and which metal react.

e. Base + Non metal oxide = Salt and water.Non-metal oxides are acidic in nature. When a base reacts with non-metal oxide, both neutralize each other resulting respective salt and water are produced.

f. Acid + Metal oxide = Salt + Water. For example, when a small amount of copper oxide is added to sulphuric acid, colour of the solution becomes blue and the copper oxide dissolves.

g. Metals have 2,3 electrons in their valence shell. They readily donate electrons to the combining atom. A base is an electron pair donor. Both the metal and the base tend to give up electrons, and no preferred direction for the electrons to go, thereby no reaction occurs.
