Father : Oh! What is your result?

Murthy : I have passed with a high rank.

Father : Hearty congratulations, my son. Keep it up.

Murthy : Thank you dad. All my friends are going to join IIT.

How about my joining?

Father : Well, I am afraid I can’t afford the expenses.

Murthy : Why can’t you afford the expenses?

Father : You know our financial position. I am a salaried person.

I have five daughters to be married and three sons

to be educated.

Murthy : Dad! If I join IIT, I will have bright future. It is my dream.

Father : I know very well son. You are a grown up. Try to understand

Me. Indeed it is a difficult situation for any father to say ‘no’

to his bright son.

Murthy : It’s also true. But how I dreamt joining IIT…! All my dreams

have been shattered.

Father : Don’t worry. I know you are a bright boy. You can stay at

Mysore and study as much as you want.

Murthy : Ok, dad. I understood what you said. I’ll try my best.
