Erosion:-

1) The active wearing away of the earth's surface by water and wind is called erosion.

2) Flowing water and wind have great power and can slowly wear away or cut away the rocks and soil cover in higher places.

Ex:- Mushroom rocks, sea arches

Weathering:-

The gradual disintegration of the rocks by atmospheric forces or weather forces are known as weathering.

The major and simple difference is----

When the smaller rock pieces (now pebbles, sand or soil) are moved by these natural forces, it is called erosion. So, if a rock is changed or broken but stays where it is, it is called weathering. If the pieces of weathered rock are moved away, it is called erosion.
