In this power is shared among the different organs of government i. e. The Legislature, The Executive and The Judiciary. In this different organs are placed at the same level. There is a concept of checks and balances. Different organs check the exercise of different powers by different levels. The concept of federalism is not there.

• Vertical Power Sharing :

In this power is shared among the different levels of the government

i.e. The Central Government, The State Government and The Local Government. In there is not the concept of checks and balances. There is a concept of Federalism.
