the himalayan rivers are perennial in nature i.e water is present in them through out the year while as peninsular rivers are seasonal i.e water is present only during the rainy season.and himalayan rivers have longer coarse than peninsular rivers.

2 -East flowing rivers have larger coarse,eroding more sediments and forms deltas.they drain into the bay of bengal. while as West flowing rivers have shorter coarse and don't form deltas rather they form eustaries . they drain into Arabian sea.

3- Rivers and lakes are of a great value to country's development. They help to develop hydel power, provide water for irrigation, drinking, industries and they help to develop fisheries. They will enhance natural beauty and help in the development of tourism and provide recreation.
