4. Draw a triangle ABC in which AB = 5 cm, BC= 7 cm and AC = 6 cm. Draw
perpendicular from A on BC.​

Answer:

1) Draw a line segment BC=7 cm,

2) with B as centre & radius equal to more than half of BC, draw arcs on either side of BC

3) With C as centre & radius equal to more than half of BC, draw another arcs on either side of BC, to cut the previous arcs at P & Q.

Thus PQ is perpendicular to BC which cuts BC at M

4) with B as centre and radius= 5cm, draw an arc on PQ,

5) with C as centre and 6 cm as radius, draw another arc on PQ to cut the previous arc at A,

join AB & AC

Thus ∆ ABC is the required triangle and AM is the Perpendicular from A to BC.
