 Let \: the \: total \:distance \:of \:the \:trip = x\:km

/* According to the problem given */

 i) Distance \: covered \:by \: boat = \frac{x}{3} \:km

 ii) Distance \: covered \:by \: foot= 10 \:km

 iii) Distance \: covered \:by \:riding \: horses

= \frac{x}{6} \:km

 x = \frac{x}{3} + 10 + \frac{x}{6}

 \implies x - \frac{x}{3} -  \frac{x}{6} = 10

 \implies \frac{6x - 2x - x }{6} = 10

 \implies \frac{3x}{6} = 10

 \implies \frac{x}{2} = 10

 \implies x = 10 \times 2

 \implies x = 20 \:km

Therefore.,

 \red{ Total \:distance \:of \:the \:trip} \green{ = 20 \:km }
