Controlling is known as one of the most basic and important functions of management.

The elements of the control system are as follows:-

  • Feedback- is known as the backbone of all the control systems. The main aim of it is to adjust future actions using past and previous experiences.
  • Forward-looking - control systems may often suffer from delays in reporting deviations and taking corrective measures.
  • Control is flexible - sometimes rigid control systems may often make extraordinary and unpredictable situations. Thus, managers must control and adapt the controlling measures as per the requirements of every possible scenario.
  • The control is economical- all the good controlling systems should be economical when it comes to their maintenance and implementation. The organization must be able to afford it and derive all the possible advantages from it.
