Answer:

(a) 1st solution

if we let x=1 then y =?

x + 2y = -5

1 + 2y = -5

2y = -5 -1

2y = -6

y = -6/2=-3

y= -3

hence 1st solution is (1,-3)

2nd solution

now if we let y = 1

x + 2×1 = -5

x +2 = -5

x = -5-2

x = -7

hence the 2nd solution is (1,-7)

3rd solution

if we let x=0

0 +2y =-5

2y = -5

y = -5/2

hence 3rd solution is (0,-5/2)

4th solution

if we let y =0

x+ 2×0 = -5

x +0 = -5

x = -5

hence the 4th solution is (-5,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

Now you can solve all the three remaining parts by this method

Hope it helps....
