4. Find the coordinates of the point where the
following lines cut the y-axis.
[Hint. A line cuts the y-axis where x = 0
Thus the line y = 2x + 5, will cut the y-axis at
y = 5, i.e., it will cut an intercept of 5 units from
the y-axis.]
(1) y = 5x + 1.
(i) y= 3x - 7
(iii) y = x + 5.
(iv) 3y = 2x+9

(i) y = 5x + 1

⠀y = 5(0) + 1

⠀y = 1

(ii) y = 3x - 7

⠀y = 3(0) - 7

⠀ y = -7

(iii) y = x + 5

⠀ y = 0 + 5

⠀ y = 5

(iv) 3y = 2x + 9

⠀⠀3y = 2(0) + 9

⠀⠀y = 9/3

⠀⠀y = 3
