a+b=3

ab=2

If a+b=3

a=3-b

so, (3-b)b = 2

3b-b² = 2

b²-3b = -2

b²-3b+2 = 0

b²-2b-b+2 = 0

b(b-2)-1(b-2) = 0

(b-1)(b-2) = 0

b = 1,2

If b = 1 then a=2

b=2 then a=1

So, a-b = 1 or a-b = -1
