P(x)= x -3x²-ax+b has (x+1) and (x-5) as factors

X+1=0

X=-1. Put X=-1 in the given equation

you get the equation,

a+b=4

And,

X-5=0

X=5. Put X=5 in the given equation

You get the equation,

-5a+b=70

Then,

subtract both the equations,you get

-6a=66

a=-11

Put the value of a in equation "a+b=4",you get,

b=15

Thus,

value of a=-11. & value of b=15
