Answer:

1=4x + y = 3x + 5 -------------(main question)

4x - 3x = 5 - y

x = 5 - y

x + y = 5 ------------(final equation)

Unless you want to put it in linear equation/style (y=mx+c)

y = -x + 5

2=x+y = 10 ----------i

x-y = 6 ------------ii

By Substitution method

x= 6+y

Substituting the value of x in (i)

6+y+y = 10

=> 2y = 10-6

=> 2y = 4

=> y = 2

x= 6+y

= 6+2

= 8
