Answer:

Answers of

a. 5 candles

b. Rs 20

c. 25 pages

d. 8 years

Step-by-step explanation:

a. let no of candles shivani be k

rohan has 3 less than 4 times

the no of candles shivani has and rohan has 17 candles

So 4k - 3 = 17

4k = 17+3

4k = 20

k =20/4

k = 5

b. Let money that rahul received yesterday be p

The money he received today is 10 more than 2 times the money he received yesterday , which is 50 .

So 2p +10 = 50

2p = 50-10

2p =40

p = 40/2

p = 20

c. let pages read on Saturday be y

pages read by prabha on Sunday 10 more than 2 times the pages read on Saturday, which is 60 .

So 2y +10 =60

2y = 60-10

2y =50

y = 50/2

y =25

d. let the age of surbhi's brother be x

surbhi is 3 more than three times the age of her brother , which is 27 years .

So 3x + 3 = 27

3x =27 -3

3x =24

x =24/3

x = 8
