Answer:
(1) Given that 4 yrs back let Ramu age be x then Rahim was 3x .
After 2 yrs ie 6 yrs later Ramus age will be x+2 and Rahims age will be 3x+6.
Hence, Rahims age 3x+6=2(x+6) as stated after 2 years.
Hence,3x+6=2x+12, or 3x-2x=x=12–6=6
Now their ages are x+4 and 3x+4, ie 6+4 and 18+4.ie 10 and 22
(2) Let length be
′
a
′
m
breadth be
′
b
′
m
area
′
ab
′
m
2
(a+5)(b−3)=ab−5
⇒ab+5b−3a−15=ab−5
⇒5b−3a=10−(1)
(a+3)(b+2)=ab+50
⇒ab+6+3b+2a=ab+50
⇒3b+2a=144−(2)
solving equation (1) and (2)
19b=152
⇒b= 19
152 =8
5×8−3a=10⇒3a=40−10=30
⇒3a=30⇒a=10
