let the centre of circle be O.

angle PTO = 90 degree. ( tangent make 90 degree angle with radius)

Here,

in right triangle PTO,

(B) PT = 24cm

(P) TO = 7cm

therefore,

by Pythagoras theorem,

OP^2 = PT^2 + TO^2

= root 24^2 + 7^2

=root 576 + 49

= root 625

=25

therefore, PO = 25cm

handsome distance of P from the centre is 25 cm
