Answer:

a) water is in liquid form and ice is solid so change of state occurs therefore is a physical change.

b) burning of candle melts it and chemical properties inside it also changes due to heat so it's a chemical as well as physical change.

c) Burning of paper produces ash and the chemical properties of paer can be identified by the production of ash so it's a chemical change.

d) As we know cutting means dividing so in case of clothes it is stretched into pieces, so it's a physical change though the microscopic changes are not observed.

YOUR ANSWER IS :-

if I may ask What do we understand be physical change and chemical change???

so then , you might answer me as

physical changes are those changes where no new substance is formed and there is only a change of shape , size and other physical appearance of an object ..

whereas, for chemical changes we may say that there is a change in their characteristic and a new substance is formed...

so , when water freeze or evaporate so we could find that new substance that is ice or steam os none other than form of water ....

OR

in case of candle ....

when it burns we could find that some of wax get melts and form liquid wax and gets solidify soon and thus we get wax only which is a physical change ,

where as when we burn ot then sone of the wax get burnt and form CO2 which is a new substance hence it is a chemical change

therefore burning of paper or cutting of cloth applies se phenomena and hence they are chemical and physical change respectively .....
