Carnivorous animals eat the flesh of other animals. Carnivorous animals have well developed sharp teeth, known as canines to help tear the flesh of prey. Carnivorous animals also have claws to hold on to prey.

All the carnivorous eat flesh because their bodies cannot digest plants properly. Plants do not provide enough nutrients for obligate carnivores. All cats, from small house cats to huge tigers, are obligate carnivores.
