Answer:

lPeople have changed , landscape is changed, attitude is changed, now we are rich , we have SUVs, good houses like the British use to have before Independence, we became enemy of forests, Jungles, Licchi trees, birds, wild boars, we encroached a lot of government and Municipality area, roads and footpaths and became even richer, all Agarwals, Guptas and Punjabi’s ( Sorry ji!!) are proud owners of khokha shops in paltan bazar ( 5X20)! gone are are days when Paltan Bazaar had a army style discipline.

we sold all our land by making them plots, we no more grow basmati rice in them, we grow flats, bang-laws for Dilli ki party, NRI coupes and blank money walas, and we proud to say that! gone are those days when we were known as city of Military academy and fauji’s, our youngsters are now go for a joy ride in their KTM 350 / bullet/custom yamaha/Pulsar/Activa at 100 km/hour , gone are the days when cycle use to rule Rajpur road,

our canal system is abandoned, there are no canals in East Canal Road( EC Road), there is no such thing in Maldevta also, now everything is underground, so that we can have more space for polluting the city of Dehradun, haa we have few flyovers dude! ( are we are shamelessly made 2 of them only and it took 5 years to complete them!! WR!!).

the schools of doon are also changed, Doon school is still elite, but now only political connections and big money can get your child in there, no education qualifications, what a useless institution this has become, leave rest of them, all of school know that attitute of parents is that they have to send their child to school and that should be english! so leave it there, there are over 400 schools within 40 Sq. KM ( another useless World Record!) when we have no brilliance in giving something to the city ( ever heard of any scientist / award winner / poet / actor / sportsman/ after Independence ?

yes, one thing which is very positive and can change our city is the garbage /rubbish we are generating , it has changed the air and smell of our city! why I said positive because we have a great chance where we can add more power to National Grid by generating power from it ( what an Idea Uttarakhand sarkar! , we all know these Kayali poolavs are another area where we changed so much!!

my father use to say ( he was born in 40’s) that there was a car in Rajpur road and we use to go run for 6 KM from Tapovan , Nalapani area just to see it when it passes every day by evening! people were so close to each other by heart that no one use to fight, there were no crimes, no thieves, no police visible, most of the people know each other, look at us know, shame on us, we just messed up on everything!
