In order to test whether a common household item can conduct electricity or not we can connect it to electric wires and a bulb (small, which takes a little energy to light up) and connect that particular household item to the wires and the bulb and switch ON the switch and if the bulb lights up then that means that the household item can conduct electricity and if the bulb doesn't light up than that means that the household item can't conduct electricity
