4. I am a number less than 40.
One of my factors is 7.
The sum of my digits is 8.

As per question,

If the number has 7 as a factor and is also less than 40 the the possible numbers are,

7, 14, 21, 28, 35

in those numbers the sum of the digits should be 8 and hence we have only one option.

hence the number is 35.

Here in this question we have to find a number less than 7 and is also a factor of 7, whose sum is 8.

We know multiples of 7 upto 40 are:-

⇒ 7

⇒ 14

⇒ 21

⇒ 28

⇒ 35

From here we can notice that sum of both digits of 35 is 8 and also it is a factor of 7 and less than 40.

∴Your answer is 35.
