Question :-

If the mean of 3 , 5,7, 9, x is 5, find the value of x.

Answer :-

\to \boxed{ \rm \: x = 1} \: \: \\

To Find :-

→ Value of "x" .

Solution :-

According to the question,

→ Mean of 3 ,5, 7, 9, x is 5 .

Here , total number of observations = 5

We know that .

 \to \boxed{\sf mean \: = \frac{ sum \: of \: observations}{total \: number \: of \: observations} } \\ \\

→ Mean = 5 ,

Hence ,

 \to \rm 5 = \frac{3 + 5 + 7 + 9 + x}{5} \\ \: \\ \to \rm \: 5 = \frac{24 + x}{5} \\ \\ \to \rm \: 25 = 24 + x \\ \\ \to \rm \: x = 25 - 24 \\ \\ \to \boxed{ \rm \: x = 1} \:
