If the dice are 6 sided, the sample space S contains 36 ordered pairs. So n(S) = 36
(i) The desired event E is getting a total of 7. Such ordered pairs are (1,6),(2,5),(3,4), (4,3),(5,2) and (6,1). So n(E) = 6. Therefore the probability of getting a score of 7 = n(E)/n(S) = 6/36 = 1/6
