the value of k

SOLUTION :

put x =3 in the equation 3x+ (k-1)x +9=0 to get the value of K

=> 9+(k-1)3+9=0

=> 9+3k-3+9=0

=> 9-3+9+3k =0

=> 15+3k=0

=> 3k= -15

=> k = -15/3

=> k = -5
