SOLUTION

Step-by-step explanation:

Given, In 2007−08,

The number of student appeared for Class X

examination =1,05,332

In 2008−09, the number =1,16,054

Passed % of student in 2007−2008

=  {Number of student appeared in 2007−2008  / Number of student passed in 2007−2008 }  × 100

=  105332  / 88151  × 100=83.68%

Passed % of student in 2008−2009

=  {Number of student appeared in 2008−2009  / Number of student passed in 2008−2009 } ×100

=  116054  / 103804  × 100=89.44%

So, increased %=89.44−83.68=5.76%
