In a rectangle of perimeter 104cm , one side is 8cm longer than the other. Find,

i) Sum of the length and breadth of the rectangle is __ cm

ii) The length of shorter side is __ cm

————————————————————

Given,

Perimeter=104 cm

Difference between the length of the two sides is 8 cm.

————————————————————

Let the smaller number be 'x'.Then, the larger number will be 'x+8'.

Now,we get the equation as,

104=2(x+x+8)

 \frac{104}{2}  = 2x + 8

52 - 8 = 2x

44 = 2x

 \frac{44}{2}  = x

{\green{22 = x}}

————————————————————

So we get the smaller number =22cm

Therefore, larger number=(22+8)cm = 30cm

i) 52 cm.
