Difference between the length of the two sides is 8 cm.

Let the smaller number be 'x'.Then, the larger number will be 'x+8'.

Now,we get the equation as,

$104=2(x+x+8)$

$\frac{104}{2} = 2x + 8$

$52 - 8 = 2x$

$44 = 2x$

$\frac{44}{2} = x$
