4. India is the seventh largest country in the world which has a surface area of 3.287 Million Sq. Km of which 60% is used for agriculture. About 20% of the land is used for non food products. (i) Calculate the land used for non-food products. Of the produced food, 40% ends as a waste. An average person needs 800 sq. m per annum to meet requirements of food’s carbon footprint (food footprint). India has a population of 1.4 Billion people. Is this area sufficient to meet the food requirement of the country accounting for the amount of food that is wasted? (i) Report the excess or deficient land requirement and calculate the percentage difference with respect to the required land.​
