Explanation:
The number of moles of HCl originally present does not change. Only the concentration of the solutions change .
original moles of solution,n1 = final moles of solution,n2- - -1
molarity(M)=no. of moles of solute/ vol of solution in litre
therefore
n1=Vol 1*M1- - -2
n2 =Vol 2*M2- - -3
on equating 1,2&3 we get,
Vol1M1 = Vol2M2
Vol1 = 2 liters
M1 = 6 M
Vol2 = 6 liters ( original 2 + 4 liters added)
M2 = ?
( 2 L )(6M)=( 6 L) (?)
on solving we get,
M2 =final molarity = (2L x 6M)/6L = 2 M
