The great value of travel as means of development, is that it stimulates
the brain and adds much to a man's receptiveness and power of observation. Not
many men are so inert and apathetic that that can travel with dull eyes. They are
practically forced to take notice of the many things that they are different in foreign
countries. It is quite true that a man does not really see his own country until he has
travelled it.
