x = 5a + 1
x = 7b + 1
x = 9c + 1
x = 11d +0
x = Lcm(5,7,9)*k + 1
= 315*k + 1
= 315*3 + 1 = 946(put k = 0,1,2,3....such that x becomes a multiple of 11)
hence,
apples = 946 :)

The no. of apples is 946.

Given:

4 mathematician has x apples.

If he arranges them in rows of 3 one will be l eft. the same is the case with 5,7,9 apples.

But when he arranged them in rows of 11, non will be left.

To Find:

We have to find the number of apples.

Solution:

Let us assume a,b,c,d,e are no. of rows in 5cases respectively.

Then,

x = 3a + 1

x = 5b + 1

x = 7c + 1

x = 9d + 1

x = 11e +0

x = LCM(3,5,7,9)*k + 1

= 315*k + 1

= 315*3 + 1

= 946(put k = 0,1,2,3....such that x becomes a multiple of 11)

Hence, the no. of apples is 946.
