Here , is given that :

4 men and 6 women can complete a work in 8 days .

So, work done by 4 men and 6 women in 1 day is 1/8 th.

3 men and 7 women can complete it in 10 days

So, work done by 3 men and 7 women in 1 day is 1/10th

Multiplying the first equation by 3 and the second one by 4 ;

> 12 men + 18 women in 1 day - 3/8

> 12 men + 28 women in 1 day - 4/10

Subtracting the first from the second :

> 10 women in 1 day can do :

> 4/10 - 3/8

> 1/40 th

So, time taken by 10 women to complete the work is 40 days.
