Given:-

  • 4 men or 6 women can finish a work in 16 days.

To find:-

  • The same work is completed by 2 mens and 9 womens.

Solution:-

Let,

  • 1 man can do (1/x) of work per day and 1 woman can do (1/y) of work per day .

As we know that,

  • 4 men or 6 women can finish a work in 16 days,

→ 4 × (1/x) × 16 = 1

x = 64

Then,

→ 6 × (1/y) × 16 = 1

y = 96

Now,

  • The work completed by 2 by mens and 9 womens.

→ [(2 × (1/64) + (9 × (1/96) )] × z = 1

→ [1/32 + 3/32] × z = 1

→ [1 + 3/32] × z = 1

→ [4/32] × z = 1

→ [1/8] × z = 1

z = 8

Hence,

  • 2 mens and 9 womens can complete the same work in 8 days.
