we have to find how many days 9 men will take to complete the same piece of work.

it's in inverse proportion as the no. of member will increase, time will decrease (no. of days) and if time increases, no. of men decreases.

according to the formula,

=> x1y1 = x2y2

x1 = 4 and y1 = 12

similarly, x2 = 9 and y2 = ?

we have to find y2

=> 4 × 12 = 9 × y2

=> 48 = 9 × y2

=> 48/9 = y2

=> y2 = 5.3 days (approximately)
