Solution:

To make concrete he needs to mix cement, sand and gravel in the ratio 5:4:1 by weight.

Let the cement , sand and gravel needed be 5x , 4x and 1x

Henry needs to make 110 kg of concrete.

5x + 4x + 1x = 110 kg

10x = 110

x = 11

So,

Cement needed = 5x = 5 * 11 = 55 kg

Sand needed = 4x = 4 * 11 = 44 kg

Gravel needed = 1x = 1 * 11 = 11 kg

Henry is having 50 kg of cement, 55 kg of sand and 15 kg of gravel.

And Henry needs 55 kg of cement, 44 kg of sand and 11 kg of gravel.

This clearly shows that Henry is having a shortage of Cement.
