Mass of solute = 4g
Mass of solvent = 36g
Mass of solution = Mass of solute+ Mass of solvent
= 4g + 36g
= 40g
Mass percentage
= Mass of solute/Mass of solution × 100%
= 4/40 × 100%
= 10%

the mass percentage of solution is 10%
