4.Prove that 5-√3 is an irrational number.

Answer:

we have to prove 5- root 3 is an irrational

let assume it is rational

so it should be in a/b form where b is not equals to zero

so,

5- root 3 = a/b

-root 3 = a/b-5

-root 3 =a-5b/b

root 3 = -(a-5b/b)

root 3 = (5b-a/b)

so root 3 is irrational and (5b-a/b) is rational

hence irrational is not equals to rational

This is our condtradiction

so our assumption is wrong

hence proved//
