Burning fuels: most likely to be fossil fuels
in chemical reactions new products are made so burning fossil fuel do result in pretty much useful fuels
although I do suggest using alkenes (shorter hydrocarbons yet stronger than alkanes) they make pretty good fuels like diesel or like kerosene
